Classroom Management Techniques for a First-Year Teacher
This video demonstrates classroom management techniques for a 6th grade class. The subject of the video is a first-year teacher, and she is being coached by management expert Dr. Jackie Ancess.
I know I will keep this video in handy for future reference. From the tips that were provided, the two that really stood out to me was Develop individual strategies, and break down lessons. There are students that get embarassed and develop a low self-esteen when teachers call them out in front of the class. Using the individual strategy is a communication as well as a relationship between the student and the teacher. Breaking down a lesson plan is important because not everything is crammed up. As the lessons are broken down, students are not confused and with setting a classroom plan gets students started, and ready to go. This video was very informative, thanks for sharing!
